The Long Island Coalition for Life is a Non-Profit, Non-Sectarian group of concerned residents of Long Island, New York, working to protect and promote respect for human life. We believe that all human beings are created equal and are endowed at creation with certain unalienable rights, among which is the right to life. We advocate for the right to life starting at fertilization/conception. We promote educational, legal, legislative, social and cultural reforms to insure both the right to life and human dignity to dependent and helpless human beings.

PURPOSES
On April 10, 1973, at a meeting held in Bellmore, New York, a group of concerned residents of Long Island, after asking God’s blessing upon their work, adopted a Constitution of The Long Island Coalition for Life.
The purposes for which the Long Island Coalition for Life has been formed are as follows:
A) To reaffirm the principle that all human beings are created equal and are endowed at creation with certain unalienable rights among which is the right to life;
B) To coordinate the activities of concerned community and citizens' groups working to protect the dignity of human life, and functioning as a unifying agent when such groups choose to speak and act as a single body;
C) To advocate the right to life of dependent and helpless human beings from fertilization/conception until natural death;
D) To promote educational, legal, legislative, social and cultural reforms designed to ensure both the right to life and human dignity to dependent and helpless human beings;
E) To aid institutions in our society, be they secular or religious, which are working to protect, and promote respect for, human life;
F) To support scientific studies and publicize scientific advances which would form the basis for greater protection for dependent and helpless human beings;
To engage in all legitimate activities intended to facilitate the attainment of these purposes. The Coalition shall not engage in civil disobedience or violence. This is not intended to restrict individuals or groups from engaging in peaceful non-violent civil disobedience as a matter of conscience. However, this organization does not condone violence by such individuals or groups. The Coalition does not exist for pecuniary profit nor financial gain.
