STAND UP FOR LIFEis the largest Pro-Life event on Long Island.  It is an inter-faith, non-political event held each year on the first Sunday of October. 

STAND UP FOR LIFE is part of the National Life Chain (lifechain.net).  There are more than 1800 such events that occur on the same day each year throughout the United States and Canada. STAND UP FOR LIFE is a family event.  We do not use any signs with abortion pictures at this event. Since we are part of the National Life Chain, we use signs that are uniform throughout North America.  We provide the signs at the sites.

We are a peaceful, prayerful witness to all the passersby (and shoppers) to the sanctity of  human life from the moment of conception until natural death.  We hope to bring awareness to those people about the horrible tragedy that occurs each day in our Country.  Approximately 3500 babies are being killed by abortion each day in our Nation.  We want to be a voice for our voiceless unborn brothers & sisters.  We also pray that more people will join us in our efforts to put an end to abortion. 

We are proud of STAND UP FOR LIFE!  When the Long Island Coalition for Life originated STAND UP FOR LIFE, we had one site in Huntington.  The event is on Rte. 110 on the sidewalks in front of the Walt Whitman Mall.  The line continues south with participants standing on the sidewalks. The line also goes East on Jericho Turnpike from Rte. 110 for approximately a quarter of a mile. We stand 10 feet apart from each other. There are two sites.  The one in Huntington continues and we established a STAND UP FOR LIFE, East, on County Road 111 at Exit 70 South in Manorville.  These events run simultaneously.

40 DAYS FOR LIFE

The Long Island Coalition for Life was proud to sponsor 40 Days for Life - Long Island during the first national campaign in Fall 2007. The LICL continued to sponsor the campaign locally each Fall through 2014. 

Thank you to all those who took part in the prayer vigils during those campaigns. You helped maintain some pro-life presence for 40 days in a row in front of the Hempstead Planned Parenthood abortion facility.

In 2013, Planned Parenthood of Nassau County's abortion business sacrificed more than 2,000 unborn babies to the hopeless desperate choice of abortion.

Long Island pro-lifers were encouraged to participate in the 40 Days for Life national campaign praying for an end to abortion. Our communities united with pro-lifers across America for 40 days of Prayer and Fasting, a Peaceful Vigil, and Community Outreach.

PUBLIC AWARENESS - UNMASK PLANNED PARENTHOOD

THANK YOU to those who attend and make this a successful event.

These events are generally held outside of Planned Parenthood fundraisers or similar events. Pro-lifers silently "greet" Planned Parenthood staff and guests with signs that show the truth about abortion and this abortion business. Sometimes guests to PP events are not aware of the abortion side of PP's business. Funds raised by the abortion giant at its events are used directly or indirectly to end the lives of babies in the womb. Pro-lifers shouldn't let this fundraising machine go unchallenged.
